Course Design Overview
The topic of the course that I have designed has to do with the definition of variables in programming as well as learning about data types. The reason for choosing this topic is that as a beginner in computer science, these concepts are the foundation for more complex programming projects later on. The goal of this course is for the learner to have an initial understanding of the definition of variables and to be able to correctly distinguish data types by the end of the course. The final assessment of the course was done using a small quiz created by H5P.
Applied Learning Design Theory
According to Constructive Alignment Theory, I need to make sure that the learning objectives, assessment methods, and learning activities are aligned, so all of the questions in the final quiz are set up to achieve the ultimate learning objectives we envision. For example, the learning objective of my course is to be able to correctly discriminate between variable date types, so the questions in the final quiz are all about discriminating between various basic variable data types.
Active learning is also a very important principle, from my personal experience, just passively receiving information does not ensure that the knowledge is truly understood and received, however, active learning allows students to better understand and apply the knowledge, my idea is to design a drag and drop question as in my final quiz. My idea is to design a drag-and-drop problem like the one in my last quiz, where different variables are dragged and dropped into the drop zone of the corresponding data type, so that learners can actively participate.
Use and experience of H5P
As a beginner to H5P, this is the first time I’ve used H5P. first of all, I’d like to say that it’s very easy to add H5P to wordpress, and the H5P Interactive Content contains rich and comprehensive content, such as interactive videos, question sets, drag-and-drop questions, and so on, which makes the course even better and more versatile. Learners can choose the interactive content they are interested in and actively participate in the learning process.

I think your lesson plan flows very logically and is in accordance with the principles of Constructive Alignment Theory. This was my first time using H5P too and I also found it to be quite easy and intuitive, which I appreciated. You also used a wider range of question types than I did, which was really cool to see! I think I’ll be playing around with H5P some more in the future 🙂
